Chufa Sedge (also known as tiger nut) is an annual plant in the Cyperaceae family in Africa and the Mediterranean coastal countries. China introduced and planted in Heilongjiang, Beijing, Hebei, Hunan, Shandong, Sichuan and other places. It is a kind of oil and grain multi-use material with high comprehensive utilization value, also known as sedge. It is also an ornamental plant for beautifying and greening the environment.

①The oil content of Chufa Sedge is as high as 35%. Chufa Sedge oil is of good quality because it is rich in unsaturated fatty acids: 64% oleic acid, 11% linoleic acid, 2% linoleic acid;
②Chufa Sedge starch content is as high as about 30%: Chufa Sedge meal can produce 50 kg Chufa Sedge starch per 100 kg, of which amylose accounts for 24.48% and amylopectin accounts for 66.42%;
③The sugar content of Chufa Sedge is as high as about 25%: after extracting starch from Chufa Sedge cake, it can produce 40 kg of caramel per 100 kg;
④After extracting starch and caramel from Chufa Sedge cake meal, it can brew 25 kg of 50~70 degree liquor for every 100 kg;
