working principle
1. Screening technology
The operation of the pressure screen is based on the principle of discharging impurities through the screen, and is divided into actual separation and possible separation. The actual separation means that the impurities cannot pass through the openings on the sieve drum while ignoring the direction of the impurities. The smaller the opening, the higher the actual separation capacity of the pressure screen. The larger the opening of the screen drum, the smaller the actual separation capacity. Possible separation means that the following impurities can be oriented to prevent impurities from passing through the sieve to separate them. Factors affecting possible separation include slag discharge rate, concentration, pressure drop, design, slurry temperature, slurry pH, design type of rotating parts of pressure screen, screen drum structure and rotor position, etc.
2. The role of the screen drum/rotor
When the slurry enters the screen drum of the pressure screen from the bottom of the equipment, a rotor with multiple rotors begins to contact the slurry. The rotor has two functions. First, the vortex velocity caused by the rotor produces a mixing effect and forms turbulence on the surface of the screen drum; secondly, the rotor is designed to generate strong negative pulses through the rotor. This turbulence and the suction force of the rotor can ensure the smoothness of the screen holes. The good slurry passes through the screen drum and is discharged from the middle of the shell of the pressure screen. Slurry and impurities are discharged from the top of the pressure screen. Large and heavy impurities are discharged through the heavy slag pipe at the bottom of the pressure screen, and the heavy slag pipe should be checked regularly.
